NADPO goes International

NADPO Chair Jon Baines appeared this week in Milan for the annual conference of the Italian Associazione Data Protection Officer (ASSO DPO).

Jon featured in a round-table discussion of the role of the Data Protection Officer in Europe – a subject which is set to raise some interesting points now that the GDPR is approaching.

Thanks to ASSO DPO for the invitation and for looking after our Chair so well. We hope to collaborate again soon!

Update on new NADPO website and logging in

We are still working on getting the whole website up and running, but are pleased to have had some positive feedback on the work that we have done so far.

We are being asked about members being able to log in and manage their memberships and access documents, as well as new members joining.

We hope to have the documents page up by the end of the weekend, as well as the instructions on how new members can join. They will generate their own passwords and be able to access documents immediately.

For our established members, because we want data to be up to date and accurate, we are migrating the old database over more slowly and we estimate that this will happen by the end of June. As we undertake this migration, you will be sent a new password (your login will be your email address) so that you can also manage your membership and access our documents area.

We are sorry for this delay, but hope people will be patient – we are all volunteers and do this work in our spare time. The task of creating a new website has already been a mammoth one, and while there is more to do, we are nearly there.
